HELP!!!! Hard time finding this movie (has freddy krueger vibe)

It's a movie that has this little boy, and I think he becomes possessed by something and his parents don't know how, but anyways it was made in the late 90s early 2000s and the kid seems to be looking for something and all I remember is in one part of the movie it showed a shadow of a claw that resembled freddy krueger and it was a very mind fuk type movie, daps for those movie enthusiasts

That's not it tho, I'm a wes craven fan. This movie just featured an appearance of freddy krueger...well his signature claw/hand it was was the shadow of the hand.
