Save longer, buy a 2nd hand current or last generation Macbook Pro or Macbook Air.

Seriously. I was a Windows guy. Made the jump - you'll never look back.

If you really only want it for those things (nobody usually does) than any cheap laptop will do. What about a Google Chromebook? Just do your research - don't listen to salesmen.

:jbhmm: Breh... You're right... But I ain't fina drop over $1000 plus tax for a laptop that I'm going to use for one semester.

I don't use computers, breh. I come here on my iPhone. I do everything on my iPhone. I don't use a computer for anything besides at work. That's it.

What you think of this Lenovo?

If all you're gonna use it for is that AND you swear not to install anything except MS Word (MS Office) - this is fine. The specs aren't mindblowing and any Chromebook - and definitely any Macbook - is better - but for BASICS, get this yes. You could probably save some cake by going for a laptop with a smaller screen (eg a 13" screen).

Chromebooks look and feel a little :wrist:to me.

I don't want to use apps and shyt like that on my laptop.

I just want to be able to browse the Internet and type up papers on MS word... That's all.
I don't know what ":wrist:" is supposed to mean in reference to the quality and dependability of a laptop, but if all you want is the basic experience of typing up papers, and browsing the internet then a Chromebook is probably your best bet for your needs vs the price point you're going for.
