It's math, really.

If you're about 35 years old, 6'2, 255 lbs, your TDEE is about 2600 calories.
Yeah, TDEE calculators aren't always accurate but it's a solid baseline.

20 lbs in a month would be 5 lbs per week.
So you'd have to be in a 2500 calorie deficit PER DAY to get there.

Which means....you'd basically have to eat 100 calories per day.
Or you'd have to find some way to increase your energy expenditure by probably 1,000-1,500 calories every day while eating less.

As someone who has lost close to 100lbs over the past few years, there is no quick fix. You won't lose 20lbs by Christmas. I had to change how I ate, I quit drinking, and exercised 3-4 times a week. I had to adjust my entire mentality towards food.
When you say adjusting your mentality do you mean eating out of necessity vs eating for pleasure?:jbhmm:

Healthy weightloss is 1lb a week, you're trying to lose 4.4lb a week. It's not going to happen, not in any sustainable way at least.

I’m losing a lot of fat but I legit had a come to Jesus moment when I was scared to death I thought I was pre diabetic and cut out all sugar. I’m legit after thanksgiving about to give up bread and snacking too. It’s going to be dumb hard but I feel the changes already so much more.

I’d say try to lose 10 pounds by Christmas max. You need to work on the lifestyle change, not drop pounds quick. Many do that and just put on more then they lose later.

2 pounds per week is a good goal to shoot for.

Exactly and going on a starvation diet like that would just fukk up your metabolism anyway.

You would either gain the weight back in a couple months or have to spend the rest of your life on a 1000 calorie a day diet :francis:

if you need advice gaining 20 lbs by Christmas I could help u. this bulking up season. if I was you I would get in the weight room and push up as much weight at I could on heavy compound lifts. squats bench press dead lift rows then after the super bowl and all these good eating holidays is passed start eating less but still lifting and adding more calisthenics and throw a little casual ball in or swimming.

seriously tho 20 pounds in 1 month not happening and shouldn't happen.

Nobody needs help gaining weight.
You just eat.

Want to gain 20 lbs? How hard is it to stuff a couple of donuts down your gullet?

There’s no way to start burning additional 1500 cals a day and cut your cals by half it will never work unless someone else controls your food and life 100% and even then they better be armed and brolic or you’ll kill them after two weeks
