Like I always say. Apple for laptops, PC for desktops.

Apple always seems to be the go to for graphic designers, photographers, etc. I'd get the retina display MBP if I was you. My brother has one, and shyt is nice. The screen is crispy as hell, and it can output in 4K, if you hook it up to a 4K monitor (we tried it with my 4K TV)

Unlimited budget? Probably the maxed out 15" MBP.

Keep in mind though, no DVD drive.
No dvd drive in any of the mac models? I was leaning towards getting a macbook but you man reinforced it

This may have to be the way to go...because most of my work atm is done via illustrator.

FYI the maxed out MBP and Surface Book are similar except the surface has a better GPU and can convert to a tablet. But if you have an iPhone it's nice that you can take calls and imessage from your MAC computer.

I think the surface book, as it stands now, this gen isn't all that. jack of many trades, master of none. the 2nd gen might be really good though. That surface book hinge is a dust/lint magnet.

If you need one now I'd go retina mb. People normally buy mac laptops b/c of the reliability and support. And OSX too, shyt if you still want windows do a bootcamp partition or parallels. Best of both worlds. Work in OSX, game in Windows.

If you can wait and want a retina mb, it should come soon. updated skylake processor, better gpu, probably a usb c/tb3 port.

for the same price you get more from the surface, tablet/laptop vs laptop. as far as the jack of all trades thing it does the laptop thing very well not sure what more you could ask and the touch screen is responsive an accurate like a smartphone not sure what more you would want from a tablet. :manny: The biggest selling point for the MBP would be the OS IMO, but not so much now since windows 10 runs amazing on Microsoft h/w
