How exactly did you land a job in your career without experience? I am at a time in my life where I'm just fukked up. It's been so freaking hard for me to land an entry level job. I have came close. For example, one employer ask me to come in for one position but due to my inexperience asked me would I be interested in another position. This was after being interviewed 2x for the original position, I was like yeah and was even allowed to job shadow. After not hearing from her for a couple of days, I shot her an email inquiring about the position, she then proceeds to tell me they would no longer be filling that position. Fast forward to this Wednesday, she calls me about my possible interest another position and would I be willing to commit at least a year to it. She didn't want to train someone for it to only have them quit after 3 months. Which was the length of my last job due to me having to resigned from my job to provide around the clock assistance to my father who suffered a bad hemorrhagic stroke. I explained that to her. I don't know if her comment was shade or what. I tried to convince her that I am dead serious about the position because it's a blessing to be offered a job with no experience when others are looking for you to have 2,3,4,5 years of experience. Despite all of this, she was still a bit unsure and wanted to things over with the person over her. Welp, yesterday, I saw an ad on indeed (the one where you submit a cover letter and resume through site) looking for someone to fill position she asked me about on Wed as well as the position she was no longer filling along with a bunch of other positions. I thought she was pretty cool, but you really can't trust white folks. Leading me on and shyt!! What are you guys advice!! I need help. I am damn near to the point I want to lie on my resume to get ahead. By the way, I will be graduating college next month and I'm not even excited due to my job prospects
from your post, you don't sound confident enough breh. all that "it's a blessing to find work despite not having experience" talk you did didn't help you at all. no offense but you need to learn when to shut up sometimes. why are you telling her about your sick dad when she's already not sure if she's hiring you?

you need to get your mind right and learn that hustle spirit. keep your mind sharp, be quick on your feet. believe in your ability to adapt and learn. this will make you more confident without being arrogant.

once your mind is right, then start to network.

and yes, A LOT of people you think are pros are faking it day to day.

you can also start your career by right away starting a business. not saying you have to but it is an option as well.

I didn't tell her it was a blessing, I used "because", not "I told her" in the original post. That's my sentiments I'm telling you guys about the offer.

I told her about my sick dad because employers ask why did I leave my last job within such a short time. I kept it simple. I didn't try to embellish to get her to feel sorry for me or anything. It was never mentioned again after she asked me initial question about why I left my last job in the first interview. I interviewed with her twice and had exchange frequent emails and calls with her.

I did it out of general love for the subject, didn't think about getting a job with it

If you don't mind me asking, what area of history did you major in specifically?

You could always do the Dan Carlin thing if your confidant enough or passionate.
