I've seen a few threads like this but I need answers on my exact situation.

:patrice: First I haven't purchased a handheld since the Gameboy Color for Pokemon Gold/Silver in 2000. I've been debating between these two for the bulk of this year and I don't wanna buy both of the rip cause I'm not sure if handheld gaming is still for me.

I have a PS4 and Wii U. I have PS+ and have around 30 games for the Vita downloaded from that (also purchased P4G on sale and some others). I purchased Pokemon Y from Amazon and can still return it if I change my mind, but that's honestly the only game I want on it. I've looked at some of the big 3DS games and the only one that kinda looks like something I'd play is Kid Icarus. The Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong stuff is pretty much all covered on the Wii U for me.

The Vita's memory card price and lack of must own games has me like :lupe: but the 3DS graphics :scusthov: and hardware worry me just as much. Not huge on indies but I do feel like maybe they're a better look on the Vita than on my console/60 inch screen :manny: Not huge into JRPGs which I think is a lot of what's popping on the Vita and a little on the 3DSXL but I'm willing to try them.

I think I might be putting too much weight on graphics and the 3DSXL games might not look as bad as the pic/vids I've seen online.

For a refurbished 3DSXL through Nintendo I'm looking at around 150 with shipping/tax.

For the Vita borderlands bundle + 64 GB memory card I'm around 340 with free prime shipping/no tax.

:sadcam: MAKE MY DECISION FOR ME

as a man who owns both 3ds and vita im telling you youre taking a L with either purchase

but with these details id go wtih vita youll get more out of it with ps plus than you would getting a 3ds for pokemon ( which is the reason i got 3ds).

i bought vita day 1:beli: and the lack of support after that first 10 moths is :dahell::damn::beli::beli::beli::to:
on the bright side i use it as a mp3 player and mobile media device everyday so i guess it was money well spent:yeshrug:

Easiest pokemon series yet:sad: you'll breeze through the game and once you do you will realize the post game is very lacking. I tried to justify keeping it but I eventually took it back to GameStop.

when it comes to 3DSXL or Vita...kinda tough really. Neither one is getting supported similarly to their predecessor. I personally took the easy route and got both(Vita 1st since Persona 4 Golden was dropping around that time and then I got a 3DS XL that next year.)

As an owner of both, 3DS would be the better overall purchase.

Vita library is growing but at a glacial pace :manny:

Both handhelds are about to drop some heat later this month though with Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton (3DS) on Aug 29th and Danganronpa 2 (Vita) on Sept 2nd

I'm gon eat :eat:

3DSXL. The Vita is a borderline dead platform outside niche titles and indie games many of which you can play elsewhere.
