My dad old ass talking starting a business and this dude don't even know how to open an email and he call Facebook "space book" :snoop:
SMH and he always try to give me 1985 business advice and I look @ him like:why:

Working retail our tech guys would take sometimes hours explaining tech to old ppl only to get cussed out the next day because they couldn't grasp the info.

Any they think because you have basic computer skills, you're somehow an expert. Its call knowing "computers" , which is old people's favorite term for tech.

Anytime a old person want to know "computers" run away. It never ends well ... Unless you want to spend hours teaching old ppl how to open an email.

:dead: This thread is the truth..........but I don't run away from the opportunity. You get your reward when they finally grasp a concept, that's a good feeling for both parties :blessed:...

I be feeling bad, cause they are truly "behind" sometimes...and be looking like lost puppies when they know a younger person is going to have to TEACH them something. They are truly appreciative, just don't get frustrated showing them....be patient and maybe record directions on their phone recorder for them.

Don't run away from the opportunity to teach older folks how to use tech......one day you going be old hopefully and may need some help......from a young person.

Agreed 100%! Especially with the bolded... They act like being able to just browse the web makes you a computer programer.

Last week I was showing an older person how to save their battery life, by going to settings and cutting back their display brightness. That's not something they put in manuals.

I will say this, there is alot of reading in mauals if you are not familiar with some tech maneuvers on screen.....and a lot of older people don't want to or have trouble b/se of eyes reading the small fonts and stuff.
