frank spent most of his budget for season 1 on the opener. if AMC gave him what he wanted in terms of a budget, TWD would be the GOAT show in terms of narrative and writing. instead, AMC gimped his budget in season 2 to double down on their other projects like Mad Men, which is why the majority of the season took place on a farm. if you look at season 1 and compare it to the rest of the series, you can tell frank played the largest role in the shows initial success. dude knew how to make you care about the characters. now a days they just bring characters on the show just to kill them off.been watching since season 2

they are on their 3rd show runner now, scott gimple. i have faith in him because AMC isn't being as jewish with the budget this time around and he's written some of the best episodes of the series, imo
