Eddie been avoiding stand up for decades. If he didn’t have good material he wouldn’t come back

meh...I'm thinking that this is more about desperation.

A lot of comedians go back to stand up to build a buzz for themselves after their careers start to fall off. Dave Chappelle, Martin Lawrence, and Chris Tucker come to mind. THey Started off in stand up--then get put onto movies--make big money and a name brand for themselves--relax,--then fall off--then they come back to stand up hoping to get noticed again.
