The Jamarcus Russell comparison is off-base because of the following:

1. Jamarcus scored very low on the Wonderlic and way lower than Jamies. Jamarcus wasn't even average intelligence whereas Jameis is probably higher than average intelligence. This implies Jameis won't have the same problems Jamarcus did with addiction, learning and laziness.

2. Jameis can read defences right now; Jamarcus could not read defences coming out.

That single quote is dumb as shyt, but y'all gotta stop the race caping. This is click bait, but it's also not filled full of lies. Jameis does make bad decisions. He regressed from his Heisman year. Mariota doesn't have the baggage and some teams don't wanna deal with it especially after how Manziel and Teddy turned out. Mariota is this year's Teddy in the sense that he's quiet, unassuming, hard working with no baggage. Jameis is this year's Manziel in the sense that he has a ton of off the field shyt the teams have to consider. I personally don't think either Mariota or Jameis are as good as a prospect as Teddy was, but they're closer than what y'all pretending they are. It's not like either one is the 2nd coming of Luck

Jamarcus' decisions were of a different variety to Jameis' though so I don't see the comparison. Jamarcus' poor decisions revolved around poor work habits and addiction, similar to Manziel. Jameis' issues involve immaturity and sexual assault, similar to Big Ben. Jameis interceptions come from doing too much but he can read defences, unlike Jamarcus.
