Haven't lived here long enough to have an opinion, but I never...NEVER....hear them dudes names brought up ever in actual conversation with people who live here.

The only person listed that I've heard mentioned briefly in a few conversation is Jeff Fort.

The conversations that I heard him mentioned in were from academic people.

Apparently, Jeff Fort grew up in Woodlawn which at the time was where many professional black families lived. He even attended Hyde Park Academy where lots of famous black Chicagoans attended. So lots of people knew of him across all sections of the black community.

The tone of the discussion painted him in a sympathetic light. He was described as being a smart kid that somehow or other got radicalized. And I think his initial activism helped move his reputation in a more favorable direction.

But that was pretty much it. Sympathy is what I got from folks who discussed Jeff Fort. The other guys I haven't heard mentioned in conversations among anyone that I know at all.
