The AI that is controlling society is discussing how it upholds the virtues that the American public expressed it upheld like integrity, honor, and rule of law.
In that specific instance the AI was making the case that Americans gravitated towards the mundane, focused on irrelevant, petty matters, and not focused on what's important. Americans were so wrapped up in vanity they silenced the voices of the victims to protect criminals.
This is front and center in society today - the hot topics of today are more focused on drama than what's important in life (I am guilty of engaging in petty drama as well), from the nonsense that pervades SM to what person some celebrity is dating. And, the current Epstein files showcase that people - a good portion of us once heralded as honorable people like Noam Chomsky- were nothing more than protectors of the most perverted and degenerate scumbags imaginable.
