I think the minimum wage movement should be putting pressure on governors, not trying to do this at a federal level.

With that said, even though I wouldn't raise the national min wage to 12, if you're making more than 12 I don't see how this hurts you.

Clinton is playing the smart political campaign game...most anti-minimum wage increase people immediately balk at a jump from $7.50 to $15 but aren't as put off by a jump from $7.50 to $12.
It plays to the limited thinking of the more conservative low IQ electorate that are easier to get fired up over the minimum wage because they are more easily outraged by the concept of doubling the minimum wage and that simple slogan can be used to get them worked up..."Them liberals want to double the minimum wage!!!" but its harder to do a bumper sticker slogan for a $4.50 increase.

This is all lip service. Hillary will say anything to get elected. I always wonder why so many people play along every presidential election when the same topics are brought up and we vote according to those promises. Medicare, Social Security, Minimum Wage, Immigration ....all topics that will be brought up again in another 5 years.
