2 Chainz never had "fans" He had a buzz. People don't buy records for music these days, they buy the record cover and whatever buzz a person has. He wasn't "hot" so even though the record was better than the 1st one it never mattered. People weren't invested in him like that as an artist. Only because he had a buzz and was hot for a second. HipHop is so corny like that. Especially these days when microwave hits are dictated by Strip Clubs and teenage whitegirls. Problem with that is that those folks are invested in ANY corny trend of the minute. And those minutes ain't a full 60 seconds anymore. It's until the next "trend, buzz" artist comes along.

Yeah but it looks like with this album 2Chainz was actually trying to offer some depth and give his fans a reason to invest in his music and himself as an artist. Probably too little too late though.
I completely disagree with you in saying "People don't buy records for music". Yeah buzz has a certain factor, but if people don't want the music, they'll just buy the singles, that's why a Pitbull or Flo Rida has huge single and pop success but no album sales. That's why Keef didn't sell, he had buzz but he had no content. Cole sells despite buzz because he connects with his fans and offers a story. Records only sell because of music these days, buzz gets people to check them out, not buy albums.
