I think there is something to be said about a minority.... "association?" for lack of a better word.

Just playing devil's advocate here.
But if you live in a country where you adopt the look and feel of a minority group then it is thought you trying to be them, but it's not seen as such if it's of a majority group.
For example, if you a white dude or a black guy trying to look kpop then people gonna call you a wannabee.
If you a white dude or brown dude trying to look hip hop then you a wannabee.

But if you a chinese guy for example trying to look heavy metal then people won't say you trying to look white, because white people are the majority of the country.

I dunno, just thinking out loud

Hated it.

They couldn't get away with making street songs, so they coined their underground movement as 'Real' Hip Hop :mjpls:

Music had no soul. I remember early to mid 2000s white producers getting their Soudclick pages clowned on the Rap Music forums. They had those gothic beats that sounded like a Castlevania soundtrack
