Think about it. Now that viacom threw their music division in the bushes as it pertains to their basic cable networks, the music has turned so redundant. The vast majority of the shyt out is auto tune trap rap inspired by the Migos flow. When BET and MTV were at their zenith, shyt was much more structured. When Rap City and 106&Park were in pocket cats didn't want to sound the same. The game was a lot more versatile.

Right now everyone is trying to sound the same because its all about Youtube and Worldstar hits. So if an artist has one flow and they're getting hella Youtube hits others will bite just to get the same result. The rap game is fragmented as fukk right now. I don't want to come off as another old head complaining about the music of today but damn.

I get what u saying opp but atleast now we know whats hot and labels cant buy a number 1 spot on mtv or bet video shows
I hear you but Radio One still dictates whats hot. The radio controls whats hot. Sometimes something blows up on Youtube and become an undeniable hit underground first like "Hot nikka" by Bobby Schmurda but even he had to jump on that table and c00n for Epic to get a deal because he knew he needed them to remain relevant. There are no independent artist getting spins nationwide.

said this years ago

the only reason albums/singles ain't selling is cause they don't play videos

you had kids sitting in front of a tv, watching nothing but videos, pretty much from 8am til 8am.. there MIGHT have been an hour of actual tv shows/reality shows... then right back to a video show

now you sending them directly to a computer to find new shyt.... all the good shyt is off the front page in 2 days, never to be watched again.... and while you sitting at the computer, you might as well illegally download the shyt anyway

yea they just buy followers, views on youtube and vevo and worldstar, buy off the radio, and buy off stores to place their shyt in the right spots
