i mean ,seriously, if u havent given up on looking for "dope" shyt, give it another year or 2 and the sound of hip hop will be so differrent you will.

how can someone who is 35 plus expect to understand what a 20 year olds definition of dope is like?

and to u "i grew up in the wrong era" kids, shut up.

listen to lil yachty, kodak black, young thug, lil uzi vert and playboi carti. u cannot tell me they arent dope as fukk

Bruh do you hear what you're saying ??? Imagine a dude about 36 Listening to Wu-Tang, Big Pun, Biggie, Nas, Tupac...then throwing in some Young Thug bestfriend. They'd fuccing have a seizure right then and there...that shyt damn near like listening to two totally different genres of music.

Breh, good music is universal and can stand the test of time. There's a reason why there's still quite a bit of shyt from the 90's that a good lot of hip hop heads born in that era fukk with, hell, even the 80's. Quality has declined over time, today's music isn't going over anyone's heads cuz the subject matter isn't that different, it's just that the "talent" is shyt, and the beats outshine the rappers. Everyone's trying to be Future, Drake, or some drill rapper now.

lyrically Migos are dope. and sound better on Alchemist than P and Hav do at this point. they both great groups tho...
Disagree. Migos sounded goofy on the Alchemist beat to me. That's not a knock on Migos though. They can actually rhyme. I'm not a fan of their style, but I can't deny the talent.

That's your choice. It doesn't mean there isn't consensus opinions out there amongst knowledgeable hip hop fans.
There isn't consensus opinions and even if they were it doesnt change how music sounds to me.

What not hiphop about think Migos is better than dry ass Mobb Deep

forget your anecdotal "my era was better because of what I listened to"

All a young bull needs to do is point at our era buying a million Shaq albums and it's over

The 90s had high highs and low lows.... this era is interesting because coastal bias is gone but
you have to cut through the volume of music being put out and do more work as an artist

with smaller budgets....and virtually no sample clearance

Old heads just need to let go of this genre...it ain't yours anymore and nobody will be as good
as the artists you had when you grew up ...they don't have to be ...it's a new day
Album sales don't matter. Nobody gave a fukk about Shaq. 95 South sold a lot records too. Nobody gave a duck about them.
