that been saying that since the 80's, it ain't no going nowhere its just the appeal will never be the same
Hip Hop has actually been relevant in the mainstream longer than any other genre of music in history
its why a time in this country when jazz was the music of voice for the youth, which was slang for sex
then it was rock'n roll, which was also slang with sex,
Hip Hop has been the music of choice for the youth for 30 years
there grand parents that listen to rap

All music is dead as far as being socially conscious counterculture shyt for the youth to express themselves. Puff and Jay finish that off a long time ago. Rap is still the most rawest and modern sounding music in todays world. I'd rather listen to a generic rap record over a generic indie rock record from some rich suburban white boy singing about a trasnforming into a metaphorical green dragon as a function of existential dread with aims to tear down the republic or whatever the fukk white music is about these days.

False. Hip-hop is not going anywhere. It evolves with the times. Plenty of good music out there you just have to search for it

No, it really isnt.

Please look harder for music.

If you have to look for something then it is not relevant. If it is not relevant then it really doesn't matter as far as talking about any genre as a whole. Nikkas didn't have to look for shyt Pre-96 for counterculture in rap.

Yall are getting good sounding music confused with music that has a message. Rap = Pop at this point, which is fine but that's a far cry from the stuff that was being put out in the 90s. Was music better then? Not really. Was there more variety and social conscious music that came from young cats telling the truth and not fabrications? definitely.
