There should be only 2 qualifications to determine whether someone is really hip hop.

1. Listened to hip hop as their first genre(grew up on it)

2. Was born poor and grew up poor

That's it. Hip hop is its special genre, with its own themes. You let rich kids in and it's a new genre.

Based on this, Drake and Mac Miller are both not hip hop.

There should be some committee that runs this shyt. And if you want to be a rapper they check your childhood income levels(taxes or lack of etc) and if its too high:camby:

Alot of rappers you think were "poor" weren't nearly as poor as you think...

I'm good on this concept

Not all, but alot of rappers who were poor and get on spend a majority of the time rapping about money and material things most of the time....
