I dont like how inflation works on something... it just sides the argument in a bias way..
how about we look at it as
for 20 years (1986-2005)
the main consoles:
nintendo
Sega genesis
Super nintendo
Nintendo 64
playstation 1
Dream Cast
Game Cube
Playstation 2
Xbox
these are the only consoles people actually bought on that list. Very few people had atari. No one had any of those other $700 type consoles. The
main consoles for
20 years were the same price range ($200 with the occassional $300). Which is fair.
20 years at the same price range and now they all sudden double and triple
consoles need to stop trying to being computers and just go back to being consoles at the $200-300 price range to begin with and drop down to $150 after a year or two and then $200 with a game. They'd sell even more if they did this in the long run. Use worse equipment anyone who really cares about graphics is on a PC anyway
