I did a slight, but interesting study of the top 5 NBA Draft picks since 1997(Could have went back further) and out of the top at least one of the picks were either a bust or didn't live up to be an EXTREMELY serviceable player. This year the top 5 picks are slated to be, Towns,Okafor,Mudiay,Russell and Porzingis,so which of these guys will drop the ball?

Lets take a look at the study, the bolded is bust/failure to be a very serviceable player

Now obviously with the younger classes the Jury is still out on them.

And some of you may agree or disagree with some of the bolded older players, but in each of those classes there was at least ONE All-Star drafted after them, but regardless of the fact there is at least one bust or huge disappointment in each class.

So will it be this year?

You forgot to bold Dion Waiters though

and Porzingis def has the biggest bust potential, Russel/Towns/Okafor seem like locks

I did but then I unbolded him,its up in the air with him,but he is averaging 14ppg for his career and only in his 3rd year, but I can see why some people feel he should be bolded

Shawn Livingston ain't no bust. How u highlight him and not Devin Harris

Did you read the criteria?

Livingston is on here due to being a top 5 pick and not living up to the hype, injuries played a part but it is what it is,regardless dude's career average is 6 PPG

Devin Harris was an All-Star and is was very serviceable up until 2011
