i still expect dogs to bark on certain sections of the song. this was when pirating wasnt as widespread. morpheus, bearshare, audio galaxy, napster (including the independent connections to it) it was easy to narrow down where the downloads would take place because torrenting hadnt been invented yet. soulseek wouldnt come for another year.

yeah i stilll have one copy like like that on Itunes, for the memories, only people that were heavy into forums/bootlegging/file sharing will remember that, I want to say it was the advance of 'Stillmatic' but it wasn't...the song first leaked like that right? That was winter 2001, a fukking lifetime ago....

napster was dope because to this day, i have shyt that nobody, and i mean NOBODY has in terms of remixes of old house songs/trip hop etc. they also had alot of live performences. the reason for this was because back in 99/00/01 the only people gettin it online were people who were heavy into the pirate scene who came from FTP sites. so you had shyt like dj performences etc that people would record and throw it on there.
audio galaxy was raw because of this, in late 2001 i did a tour of duty in afgahnistan during the early stages of the war. when i returned in 2002, audio galaxy was shut down however i was apart of like 5 music groups for all the genres i listened to. literally 70 albums/hundreds of songs were uploaded as my mother (god bless her) would leave my computer on to help make this happen. those auto uploads were dope.
also you could get shytty quality vcd movies on audio galaxy as well but you didnt notice it cuz justhaving it was the shyt.
