Deadline reports that last night’s edition of Saturday Night Live on NBC, featuring WWE Superstar John Cena as the guest host, drew a 4.8 Live+same day rating in metered market households. It also drew a 2.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic in the markets with local people meters.

According to the report, these were the best ratings for SNL since the first post-Presidential election episode on November 12, which was hosed by Dave Chappelle (6.2, 3.9). The rating was also higher than last week’s episode, hosted by actress Emma Stone (4.4, 2.1) and a corresponding episode from the same time last year (3.8, 1.8).

Thread should have been worded Cena has second highest rating this year for SNL but the biggest story is how big that rating was for Dave, dude is still a star. He should try and get with Kevin Hart for a buddy movie. Them two together gonna crush the buildings

I didn't watch but hopefully this is a sign of snl getting interesting i know every group says the shows gotten worst but these last 3 seasons felt lackluster and they dont really have a specfic person to watch every episode for anymore
I think more niche hosts may actually help ratings
