You also have to look at relative ages. I think places like austin and Atlanta are younger cities than others. People aren’t as established to be able to afford homes yet. The younger people are also more likely to move often and don’t care about buying yet. Affordability is a factor but not the only one.

I bet it all tracks along with marriage rates too. Affordability is definitely an issue in places like Seattle and SanFran. But I bet there are more single people in those places too as compared to Louisville and Minneapolis.

im surprised las vegas is that low, don't people move there for affordable homes? At least that was the case a few years ago.
