What do you love most about black love?

For those who are married or in a relationship with a black woman or black man, does it feel good to have someone of your race understand your daily struggle?

Could you or have you dated someone of another race?

How does it feel to just be able to come home and to just be able to unwind with someone you legitimately love and who legitimately loves you back? What are the holidays like? :lupe:

The understanding of the our everyday struggles as black people and the consideration that comes with it. The knowing of what dangers exist for us and the support we give each other without having to even explain whats needed and why. Plus the feeling of seeing others inour community wanting to see you succeed just because youre a black couple.

I love that I can say something inherently black about anything and I don’t have to explain myself. Jokes, movie references, upbringing etc. I love that we both know the black struggle. We are different genders but we understand it’s hard out here for both of us

For me there’s nothing better than black men. I’ve only dated black men :yeshrug:

Being black in and of itself isn't important if our values don't match.

Random hood breh + upper middle class Martha's Vineyard brehette??? They both go to Howard, get degrees and strong careers but their life experiences are night and day. The bonus of shared blackness can be negated by being unevenly yoked in other ways.

Black love is beautiful but you need to be well matched in other ways.
