Could you or have you dated someone of another race?

No. Im not spending my time educating someone on why something has importance or why something shouldn't be said.

People are free to do whatever they want, but i will probably always side-eye a black person who dates a cac, male or female :yeshrug:

Ill never get it, maybe its not for me to understand

Being black in and of itself isn't important if our values don't match.

Random hood breh + upper middle class Martha's Vineyard brehette??? They both go to Howard, get degrees and strong careers but their life experiences are night and day. The bonus of shared blackness can be negated by being unevenly yoked in other ways.

Black love is beautiful but you need to be well matched in other ways.

Even in your example (which i agree), they are still gonna be more similar than they would with any cac. I know the coli believe that a poor cac growing up in the hood = the black experience but that has never been true

Agreed. I'm also thinking economics, religion, child-rearing etc. Even if a breh is choosing between two black women, he's really gotta take his time (as should she) and make sure they plan on moving in a similar direction.

One sista might prefer to make $75k/year with good work-life balance and is happy to drive a used Lexus while another sista is willing to take on a much more stressful $150k/year gig but wants to enjoy the fruits of her labor (nicer ride, frequent vacations etc).

Dude has to check that they're on the same wavelength.

I've dated non black women before one white one latina. There is a kind of inherent understanding that black people have with one another. That for some reason other people don't. The white girl I dated her favorite book is the Authobiography of Malcolm X but there was always a slight disconnect. There are black things that only black people can feel and understand. That's really what I love about it. If that makes sense.

I can only speak for myself but I like how resilient it is. For example, my uncle and "aunt" have been together for 17 years and never got married, I know even if my girl mad at me if anybody violates she's jumping in no matter what, and I know y'all got grandparents or something that argue like they hate each other but couldn't live without each other.

It's just cool to see that whether it's traditional or nontraditional relationships, there's all love between us.

man, I was just looking at my social media and noticed a cousin of mine that has a white wife unfollowed me. Like we’re cool and I don’t think I said anything too wild… your post just got me to thinking :ohhh:
