Being that 2 Chains, Westside Gunn and Conway The Machine blew up in their mid to late 30's, hell even 03 Greedo started buzzing in his early 30's.

How old is too old to start rapping?

EDIT: I'm not a rapper, Brehs. This is just a question.

To START? Probably 30s is too old if you’re just starting. I don’t think you’re ever too old to blow up tho, anyone can grind and start to get a buzz and a following.
I agree, maybe I should change the title of the thread.

I'm pretty sure all of the rappers I mentioned were rapping before they blew up (I know 2 Chainz been rapping). but they changed their style or started marketing themselves towards a different crowd.

2 Chainz biggest single came out when he was 29 and started rapping in the late 90s.
You're using examples of people who were underground and building slowly since their teens or early 20s.

So is the question, 1. how late is too old to blow up, 2. to start making money of rap or 3. to actually start recording and releasing music.

In any event, there's no easy answer to the question. Goldman Sachs CEO is a techno/house DJ in his spare time. I mean if you can innovate like Kendrick at 65, then why not let the public hear it. :yeshrug:

It really depends on where you are in your Life & your career, if you previously rapped & had to fall back for a few years & pop back up around 30 that’s cool, hip hop has no age limit for making it.

But i wouldn’t recommend no one to freshly start rapping at anything past 30, especially locally

Your 1st mistake is deferring the decision making process about YOUR life to these deluded Coli nikkas

You gotta goal or dream you want to achieve? Just get started and only deal with people who can help you get to your goals.

You Dont need permission OP. The next man word dont mean shyt, just go for yours if thats truly what you want.

You're never too old to start rapping. How old is too old to be letting other people dictate how you express yourself through the arts??????

Not everybody is trying to go about this from an industry, how long til I do something that resembles "blowing up" crap.

Ka ain't get any real recognition til he was in his 40's while he was the captain of the fire department..which I'm sure paid well, so why rap?
