It's the same thing with every major electronic release... it's all about having the newest toy you can play with. You have to remember, the PS360 came out in 05' 06' so nikkas were thirstin for new systems for a long time. Seven-eight year console cycles is an anomaly as we're used around five to six so can you blame people for going out and buying new systems right away?

there's absolutely no value in having either of these consoles right now. if you swooped in a year or so later and bought them $100 cheaper or so you'd miss out on the worst year of their lives and spend $100 less to skip that. win-win.

i understand some people including myself are tech enthusiast but for the common person i don't get it. as a tech enthusiast i know its a dumb purchase. i can see them moving some units but its insane. best buy had piles of them and people were lining up this morning and they're completely sold out. for what so people can play NBA 2K14 Battlefield and Call of Duty? the same games they could have played already with minimal added content before the $400-$500 price of entry?

maybe i'm of the thought that most people have bigger things to worry about than blowing money of nonsense. i honestly don't and i lead a pretty frivolous irresponsible and carefree life. i just didn't think so many others did as well.

720p/30fps/24players to 900P/60fps/64players is enough of a reason to get a new system. It's really that much better when it works.

I totally agree with the points you're saying breh, but all I'm saying is people like hot new electronics so that's why they're in such a rush to go out and buy new systems. These guys don't care about launch lineups as long as they got their new CoD/Madden/2K game to play on their shiny new system.

These prices are set for at least 2yrs bruh. Or you can stay on last gen consoles which will get less games over that span. Mostly mulitplat titles. You know, the type of games YOU don't like. I was really hoping that having it bundled with the console would actually produce something cool, but I really haven't seen it. the only really cool thing I've seen is the fitness stuff, but that's really not what I would call a "videogame"
