hot take: The hood areas of DC are worse than baltimore or Philly

I stayed in "NoMa" over the weekend and made the mistake of wandering around thinking $4k apartments around union market meant the area was safe
Went to some chinese store called Full Yum on P and North Capital to get mumbo chicken (overrated btw) and saw a crackhead pull a machete out his pants on another crackhead. I never actually saw people smoking crack before in real life until last weekend. It's 2023 and it's really people out DC smoking crack on major street corners at 1pm.
I been around SE and Anacostia before but in a car, didn't think it was that bad. This time I had feet on land and it's another world out there.

Not that it's a competition or anything but I was sleeping on DC all this time . I'm a breh that walks through Kensington fine but them DC goons and crackheads had me anxious as hell

I mean yea, all the praise that DC and the DMV in general gets is the reason why I was sleep.
I was surrounded by black excellence when I went out to Park on 14th and other spots, it's really only like 20% of the city that gutter. It's just next level gutter and I wasn't expecting that

Exactly. I mean it's like that in Philly too but way more gradual a transition. Like you said in DC it can be a block down and totally different

DC hoods look like Beverly Hills compared to Philly and Bmore.

Also NoMA (especially North Cap and the Trinidad neighborhood) despite the gentrification is a notorious drug market area. If you stayed long enough you will see far worse shyt then a crackhead getting their fix.
