One of the biggest problems with our politicians is that their political decisions change nothing in their lives so they don’t give a shyt. If someone shot up congress they’d pass a bill that same week to ban guns

If it doesn’t including banning all assault weapons, military grade weapons and restricting all gun permits, then I don’t need to read it.

The second amendment has been blurred and misinterpreted so much that it’s virtually meaningless.

All of these laws and bills are reactionary. What you can do after the shots are fired. And the mental health bullshyt is only more of a reason to ban guns. You got all of these mentally unstable people walking around with guns all over the place.
That can never ever happen with Republicans, so we should focus on getting them out first. Hell, that would also need a court packing at this point, to be honest.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
They refuse to anything about guns but will pass shytty bills that will never directly address the issue. fukking cowards, how many more kids have to die? I get if their children were in that class room they’d feel differently about all of this.

Look at the bright side. Police agencies will continue to get more money. Prisons will get more inmates which will lead to more money. Funeral homes will stay flush with new business and gofundme.com will continue to get money from fees of people asking for donations to cover the cost of someone being killed by guns.

You can't repeal the 2nd Amendment. The process for it is basically impossible (by design). It's as impossible as repealing the 1st Amendment. You just won't get enough votes. You will not get 38 states to vote for it, even from "Blue states" like Oregon.

If Republicans really want to take some type of significant action against this they would pass universal healthcare including easier access to mental health services, that would significatly decrease gun crime, that is not bound by a consitution, but thats socialsim i guess.

There will never be a true super majority.

And even if you had it at the federal level, states rights trump it. So if states someone ban guns, you can always go to a state where they aren’t banned and bring them back.

NJ has some of the most strictest gun laws in the country. But you can simply drive to PA, Virginia etc. and get someone else to buy you one to bring back.

But we have to realize that ANY steps towards reducing mass shooters will be met with pushback by Republicans. Republicans are slated to take the house, if that happens, NOTHING will be done about guns in this country, it will likely be made worse.

Are we clear on who the real enemies on this matter are? I'm not sure where you stand, it's like you acknowledge there is a problem but aren't acknowledging who is the cause of this problem.

Even the route @King Jove is going, which is a route I have no problem with at all, because it should already be ensured in a country as rich as this, will not be possible because Republicans will strike it down. Manchin will sure as hell strike it down. So we need to maintain the majority at the House, and we need to pick up seats, and these seats are battleground seats, at the Senate, so we don't have to worry about Manchin or Sinema or any dumb republicans blocking bills.

The Republicans are the main issue with guns in America, point blank.
