Saw some pics @TheGodling took at an OVERSEAS show. Here's one:

That's one side of the second level.

And over here in the US it's pretty much the same. I'm sure it varies city to city. I went to one back in 2015 (Staples) and the majority of the top was empty. The second level was about 80% full.

I remember back in the day those shows were almost packed.

How many heads can fit in the arena, @TheGodling ?

EDIT: if the pic isn't showing up, hit up the last page of the Jojo thread.

As far as I can remember only those sections (second level, closest to the stage on each side) were completely empty, some other parts of the second level were half empty too. The maximum capacity for the Ahoy Arena is 15,000 so I think attendance was still around 10,000? I do remember last year in Amsterdam it was similar. But to get a better view of the arena as a whole, check this video of Aleister Black's entrance.

You have to keep in mind that pro wrestling is almost non-existent here. Most folks see it as a joke and would be hard pressed to know a wrestler's name outside of Hulk Hogan and The Rock. Hell, I can guarantee you that even most people present did not know about Tommy End before he signed to WWE.

They don't sell all of the seats at house shows. I went to one at Barclays a few years ago and no seats in the upper deck were filled. Only certain arenas will pack the house for a show like MSG which if it werent for the titantron and ramp placement, would have been a near sellout.

Cena has been proven to boost house show numbers and be a draw there. Reigns is the current face of the company (tbh) and he isn't drawing a dime :hubie:

I'm the biggest Reigns stan on this joint but he's the main guy now and some of the blame has to be on him :yeshrug:

Cena don't do much either, but then Cena has had more time to cook in the ring and as a character. 16 years or wrestling right?..... I still wish they let Reigns go full blown heel. :mjcry:But then again the shows (Raw especially) is just dry story wise.

Cena also had an organic rise, though... and an organic Heel to Face turn with how popular he got after the Taker and Brock feuds...

:patrice:

shyt, as much as everyone (myself included) complains about Cena being Cena NOW, they got it right with him with how his rise from Midcard to Main Event played out. Something they refuse to do with Romey Rome.

Unless it's Madison Square Garden, Philadelphia, or some other big wrestling town house shows aren't going to draw massive crowds. When I went to a house show last year at the Toyota Center it was a large crowd but the show was great. The show was headlined by Dean Ambrose vs Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental championship.

Also wwe is on damn near 5 days a week and with the network you have 5 hours mon/tuesday 6 if you count 205 live then another hour on wendsday and two sunday ppvs a month.. I am not surprised people are not rushing to see non storyline based house shows, when they can just sit at home and get their fix for free. Their isnt enough of a demand to see a house show after all of that
