Easily afford a house or afford to make payments on one? For most people a house is bondage. Keeps them in debt long term and forces them so spend a good chunk of their income servicing that debt. Imagine if the average person could pay off a house in 5-10 years how life would be.

The people who set those unafforable prices are a problem. The people who are WILLING to pay those unaffordable prices are also the problem.
