Why do that when the PAC12s tv dealings are damn near on shakier ground than the Big 12s pre OU/UT exiting. Larry Scott was more concerned with getting teams in Chinese households than securing the bag domestically and they’re still struggling to recover from it
Both the Big 10 and PAC -12 are FOX properties . Fox would absolutely love to consolidate those assets .

As far as the PAC-12 network is concerned …integrate that into the already existing and flourishing Big 10 network . Money Printer

You have to explore those avenues before you just go grab a Kansas and Iowa State who are BEGGING for a home and will be there

I don't think you realize how valuable being an AAU school is in this conversation. That said, Kansas football has more potential than Rutgers. Why? Because once Kansas State drops, they are the only big dog in Kansas they got A LOT of money. They also make a lot of money off of Football even though they suck.

Iowa State has a lot of value as well.
KU is 3rd in revenue in conference. Make small potatoes in football but spend the 4th most. Basketball money is king.

I 100% know how important AAU status is and we know for a 100% fact if Notre Dame said we want to come the fact they’re not AAU wouldn’t mean anything
ND has reach across the nation and Europe (particularly the UK). That opens up a lot more lanes and from what we’ve seen, getting as much revenue trumps everything else

In all this, I hope UH heads to the PAC. All the Fretita money, recruiting grounds, a city with a metro population of over 7 million, recently started their Med School program. They're reaching for AAU. The commuter school label is what UCLA once had, and it's shed that over time a long time ago.

In the future, UH could be the thorn that UT and A&M willfully ignored. A move to the PAC would be pretty gigantic.

That’s true but that just shows AAU status isn’t the end all be all

Virginia Tech is a major research university but not AAU the Big 10 would 1000% take them over Iowa State if they wanted out ..Cincinnati is in the same boat BUT Ohio State would probably feel a way and block them .

You gotta wait and see how shyt shake out before you just go grab some C level schools

I wasn’t aware of this :hubie:
Yeah from what I have read, lots of people blame the conference not surviving on Texas but the truth is, most of the big schools wanted exactly the same thing Texas (they aren't innocent on this btw) got and all of them voted for the same unequal revenue sharing. In fact, before the LHN, Kansas was the one that made the most money and in OU made more than Texas in revenue sharing for football. Kansas basketball brings in money and I think they would be very valuable for any conference.

Basically. That's why I laugh at anyone suggesting WVa for the ACC. They don't offer anything that Charlottesville and Blacksburg already don't offer them. That's why, to me, Baylor and TCU going to the ACC makes more sense. They both offer something others don't and the ACC doesn't care much about a religious school in conference (BC, ND affiliation) like the PAC-12 seems to care about

Since when? KU was constantly behind UT, A&M, and depending on the year, OU before Beebe fukked It up and let Nebraska, Colorado, and A&M rollout

True but Baylor also has their basketball program which won a chip last year and their storied Football program, not even mentioning their medical program which is one of the best in the country, and they have name recognition outside of Texas no one knows who TCU is.
Athletically, I'll give you the Baylor basketball program due tot the chip they won but I'd hardly consider their football program storied. They aren't even better than TCU historically in wins or win percentage and Baylor is 53-57 vs TCU. Academically, yeah Baylor wins. But financially and looking at eyes, TCU has the advantage due to being in the metroplex. TCU would deliver more than Baylor in this department.

What it sounds like is Oklahoma decided they wanted to go to the SEC and play the best teams and told Texas they can come along if they wanted to. Just from the little details out right now.
That makes more sense than Texas making the move first .. I don’t see why Texas would give up basically owning the Big 12 for money unless Oklahoma pulled that card .
