Basically. That's why I laugh at anyone suggesting WVa for the ACC. They don't offer anything that Charlottesville and Blacksburg already don't offer them. That's why, to me, Baylor and TCU going to the ACC makes more sense. They both offer something others don't and the ACC doesn't care much about a religious school in conference (BC, ND affiliation) like the PAC-12 seems to care about
Yeah the only reason to bring WVA would be to reunite them with the Big East boys and bring the Backyard Brawl back . But who really cares about that ?

Two of Ok.State , Baylor and TCU would be good gets

Gotcha! That's also towards the end of fat boys reign as HC and got some of the old $$ who didn't care about football to actually start chipping in along with a new car smell of actually competing in football and getting folks interested. Bet they dropped after the 2011-2012 payout period

Yeah I'm trying to find the numbers later on in the 2010s but I can see how KU dropped after he left but the payout may remain high becuase of their basketball program. Also, I think KU won the national title in 2008 so they may still have saw some funds from that as well.

I 100% know how important AAU status is and we know for a 100% fact if Notre Dame said we want to come the fact they’re not AAU wouldn’t mean anything . Nebraska lost AAU the minute they joined ..I’m sure the Big 10 wasn’t blindsided by that but it’s not a huge issue because they still are a major research university .

As far as Kansas is concerned being the only school in Kansas for football means absolutely nothing . Recruiting in New Jersey >>>Kansas

if Rutgers ever got their shyt together they’re upside is infinitely higher than Kansas” in football
Notre Dame and Stanford are world class schools. You know they are bigger than this type of mention. The NCAA has a rule for ND. No one else has that. You can't compare elite schools to your normal sporting elites. ND and Stanford are thr upper echelon of the upper echelon as for as schools go. Stanford is the best sporting school in America till Texas knocked them off for the first time in 25 years. ND has it's own rules. Come on son

Again, and @tremonthustler1 and several other posters have said this repeatedly, NY doesn’t give a shyt about college football and Rutgers football in particular
Breh you just skip over why I said the big ten wanted Rutgers :gucci: they wanted Rutgers so the big ten network could air in New York on basic cable since it’s a lot of alumni in New York from big ten schools

Kansas football has no where near the upside of Rutgers :dwillhuh:

Iowa State is a coaching change away from the Sun Belt conference. Yes Iowa and Iowa State are similar in market size ..but what is the point of having two fish in a fish bowl ?

Your academic point is a good one but AAU status isn’t the end all be all. It’s about research expenditure. Georgia Tech didn’t become an AAU school until 2010 but they’ve an elite research university forever .
AAU is an academic dikk measuring contest. Nebraska lost AAU status damn near the second they joined . ND isn’t AAU but BIG 10 presidents would not give a single fukk

Kansas and Iowa State are going to be there forever . The BIG don’t have to rush to go get them them . Check the temperature with the PAC-12 on merging ,See how UVA,GT and UNC feeling like ..then if it’s quiet go grab Kansas and Iowa State .You don’t think a school like Duke is getting skittish about what’s going on right now ? Moves will be made
Breh I might call it a day in this thread :hubie: Iowa is a original big ten school :what:why are they even being compared to Iowa state

The more I look at this,

Kansas and Iowa State should be fine, they will be coveted.

Baylor and TCU are in massive trouble, Pac 12 could see them as an issue due to religion but they have a lot of good about them.

Texas Tech and Oklahoma State need a miracle, PAC 12 is their only hope.

Kansas State and West Virginia are fukked.

I don't see the Big 12 keeping its A5 status after 2025, they are going to be Big East status

Might as well change their name to the SWC

AAC getting better TV ratings than the Big XII schools outside of Texas and Oklahoma. The Big XII will have massive issues getting a deal close to the P4. I just don't see Big XII maintaining its status for long. They don't have the numbers. Lose Kansas and you beyond fukked

It's sad because the Sun Belt had a better season in 2020 than the AAC for G5 football schools but ratings matter

they could've gotten Syracuse who has way more alumni in the NYC area...

That’s a fact a Stanford is an elite school

an elite school that’s stuck in the PAC-12
Same with UCLA and SC

You know USC ain’t just looking at what’s happening and just twiddling their thumbs

you 1000000% have to check the PAC-12 temp before rushing out for Kansas and Iowa State

Virginia Tech is an elite school that’s not AAU ,Pitt is an elite AAU research university. you have to check their temp because what happens if FSU and Clemson decide to dip ?

The Big 10 has plenty money to wait out . Rushing to grab Big 12 Leftovers makes 0 sense .
