I think it's state law that Oklahoma can't leave without OKST.![]()

Still, expect there to be significant political pressure from state lawmakers with ties to Oklahoma State. It’s also worth noting that Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt is an Oklahoma State alumnus, although he hasn’t made any public statements about this situation.
Alexander and other sources told The Athletic that even if the state legislature were to pass a law mandating that OU and OSU remain in the same conference and even if the governor signed it, it probably wouldn’t hold up in court because of the way university governance is arranged in the state. — Jason Kersey [Quotte]
If you're the coaches at OU and TX aren't you pissed at this?
It'll happen sooner than 5 years.
UT recruits are fine. What they have lacked is coaching. JK dobbins would not have been the same player at Texas as he was at Ohio State. Had no problem during the Mack Brown era but what’s the problem now?Texas recruits are fine.....UT Austin recruits are overrated. UT tends to get dudes that lack fire. Austin breakfast burritos, weed and fine azz girls will sap you of that hunger.

Texas A&M should join the Big Ten in response. Putting them in the west division would make sense: that way their main competition to get to the conference total game are Wisconsin and Iowa. Not saying it’ll be a cake walk but it’s def easier than the division with OSU, Michigan, MSU, Penn State etc. You win the conference you go to the playoffs with a top 4 seed.

Texas and OU officials plan to inform the Big 12 on Monday that they won’t renew when the league’s grant of rights expire in 2025, a step that clears the path for the SEC to formally consider adding Texas and OU.
Again, barring unforeseen circumstances, an SEC vote on adding Texas and Oklahoma "could move quickly," the source told Horns247.
“In this changing landscape of college athletics, this is what’s best (for Texas and Oklahoma),” the source said.
Horns247 reported previously that Texas and Oklahoma are prepared to wait until the current grant of rights agreement expires in 2025 before moving on from the Big 12,
To leave earlier, Texas and OU would be contractually bound to give up their four remaining years of Big 12 television revenue, which would total nearly $160 million each (based on 2019's $37.7 million payout per school) - although such situations in the past have been settled in court to allow both sides to move on.
