Lateral move, so no.
Yeah at this point with Ime lack of offensive creativity, it would have to be a superstar guard, who can overcome bad spacing and sets. Almost a bully ball forceful type like a Jalen Brown. I was initially against the Jalen Brown talks(and really I still am) but for the sake of Ime and his ineptness on offense im more open to it but this reminds me of the JVG and Francis-Mobley fiasco. That’s why I’m more patient than most rockets fan is because of that situation. I thought we had enough talent to grow into a contender with Francis , Mobley, Yao and even Nacbar but JVG was a lot like Ime is now. He can’t really raise offense so he needs top guys there. The TMac years were a huge failure. If Mac wasn’t going off we weren’t competing. That trade didn’t raise our ceiling, it jsut raised our floor. TMac had the same success as Francis and Mobley. First round playoff exit.

Something similar is happening in Cleveland. They made that huge trade for Mitchell and they can’t even sniff the conference finals.

Same thing with the Knicks. All that dramatic moves for 2nd round. We can do 2nd round exits with this core. We need to raise the ceiling of this team not the floor. I have no problem moving players in our core but it better be for superstars .

Like I said I’m not interested lateral moves for Jalen.

I’m Off the harden train move, too, after that game seven.

All that said I’m seriously looking forward to the future and next season to see what we can do to make this team better. We have to find a closer. It’s not on this roster. I’m not even a fan of him but even a Derozan on this team would’ve probably been enough beat GSW.

We don’t need anymore role players. We need bucket getters. I want Coby White. Send Cam, Reed and a FRP.

@GoldenGlove stop the bullshyt and let’s get goin. :birdman:

And Durant for Jalen Brooks and one of their draft pick back

Move amen to sg. Start Tari or Jabari with Sengun and Durant

Resign Adams
Resign Tate.

Use the mle on another bench guy

Yea i'm all for acquiring Giannis... however, the one problem with Giannis is he's basically Shaq. You'll get a reliable finisher at the rim with 30 and 15 stats, but you wouldn't get a shot maker or closer. Really, he'll end up in the same situation as Sengun getting the ball at the freethrow line extended with 4 seconds left and a wall built in front of him.

That's too much of a grind and Giannis is on the wrong side of 30 for us to subjugate him to that and expect him to stay healthy euro'ing thru 3 people every night with our shyt spacing. Someone like Colby White as a secondary/complimentary deal would make sense, to be his Jamal Murray in a sense.

Coby White would work wonders for your offense. He's started to really blossom into a lead scorer and FT merchant after the trade deadline with LaVine off of the roster.

He has 1 more year left at 12M. Depending on the other moves you make (KD or Giannis???) adding Coby would provide a jolt of offense that Houston desperately needs. You'll just have to be fine with paying him 35 to 40M a year when you resign him (so basically swapping out Jalen's money moving forward to pay Coby). He's a little older, but he's shown he can impact games as the main guy or the secondary guy... he also isn't a crazy usage player who fits with any kind of offense you run.

The only thing is whether Chicago is serious about keeping him or not.

DeRozan is interesting... I wonder what Sacramento would ask for in that kind of deal from Houston

Coby barely 25. That's honestly a good inbetween for a Giannis (30-31) and a Sengun or Amen (22-23), whichever of the two we'd keep. And since Giannis likes to heliocentric offense, and Ime ain't gonna impede that (for better or worse) someone like Coby who doesn't need high usage would be a good compliment. More-so want Giannis than KD for obvious youth and paint scoring reasons but the trade off is we'll then need a shot maker.

He absolutely is not interesting. @who_better_than_me was showing a moment of cloudy judgement falling a tough loss. He don't mean that shyt

SAC can keep DeMar

You right. I’m definitely not interested in trading any of value for him. If they want uncle Jeff and Tate….. maybe a second round pick

Any average SG in Jalen’s spot would’ve had GSW going home in 5, including DeRozen. Though it would’ve been a quick trigger, it’s looking like they should’ve done that Jalen/Mikal swap as long as it didn’t involve picks.

Any average sg instead of Jalen and Rockets wouldn't have been a 2 seed playing the warriors to begin with :hubie:

And I think you’re underestimating the Warriors who likely will go to NBA finals again this year

Not really underestimating the Warriors. I know they were a much better team with Jimmy Butler down the stretch, but realistically, Rockets hit their FTs like a normal professional team does, the series ends in five games and we’re having different convos about both these teams. Jalen came up yet smallest out of every player on the team when it mattered the most, and if you even got average play from him, they win the series even with the shoddy FT shooting. I 100% believe that they still have a high seed and win this series with Mikal Bridges in Jalen Green’s spot. Austin Reeves as well.

He couldn’t come up small when his role was to play a lesser contributor on offense and to focus more on defense

They played “Jalen ball” only in game 2 when he came out hot and jimmy butler also got injured

Seems like every game plan was different as the series went on

Van fleet got hot for the last few games and The Thompson twin had a nice game 7

Other than that the offense was heavy on Segun and attacking the paint

Jalen green wasn’t part of the equation or he was playing limited minutes for most the series

He didn’t have the opportunity to come up big because Ime wasn’t dependent on him being a scorer

ime playing 90’s ball. Appreciative for what’s he done for the franchise and changing the culture but I really thing any solid coach could’ve improved this team after Silas. This is JVG all over again and we never got over the hump in the postseason we moved on from JVG. JVG didn’t like playing rookies and young guys either and also valued defense over offense. VSpan was considered a player in Europe and JVG didnt even give that dude a chance when He came over here.

I grew to really hate those JVG years.

Everyone had their shortcomings but I won't allow this thread to devolve into any badmouthing outside of Jalen, since he is trash with the Rockets and only worried about nails and thots.
Everyone has room to grow within the organization sans his bytch ass :camby:
