So ya'll remember Happy Gilmore?
Adam Sandler brought loads of different people to golf games
And the promoters made massive amts of money

Boxing has myriad issues. There are too many champions. The heavyweight division has been in the doldrums for years. There are too many weight classes. You have to subscribe to a premium network to be a fan.

50 Cent, whose first foray into boxing promotion comes to fruition Saturday when his exciting young fighter, Yuriorkis Gamboa, fights on the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez IV pay-per-view telecast, thinks a major issue with the fistic sport is that there is too much emphasis on the main event and not enough focus on the show as a whole. The music mogul, whose real name is Curtis Jackon, believes that integrating music and entertainment with the show would be a boon to the sport, not to mention better undercard fights.

"You have to merge music culture with (boxing) and develop cards that are exciting for more than 36 minutes maximum," said 50 Cent. "We should take away the main event, say the whole show is the main event. They should make cards that are exciting enough for us to watch the entire show. You see arenas that you sit down and you feel like it probably didn't sell out until 36 minutes before it's over, then the whole place is full.

"(We should) use some of the theatrics that you see in WWE and bringing them into a sport that doesn't have a question mark -- we know boxing is real. We don't say 'is that real?' like wrestling. If you add those different elements to it you can offer something that would be entertaining enough to watch the entire show."
50 Cent: Boxing could benefit from WWE-style theatrics

Think about it
A major celebrity known for his wilding out antics on twitter and in real life beefing with everyone becomes a boxing promoter trying to bring WWE-style theatrics to the boxing scene.

Think about it, it's genius!!!!!!

Think of the possible pay per view addition in dollars being thrown into the arena
More boxing drama in the news to a distracted country in love with reality tv type nonsense

Perfect sporty/entertainment business formula to a nation of sheep!

IT'S GENIUSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

Although his music ain't shyt, nikkas can't hate on the hustle. It's very possible if everything works out this nikka will be the richest dude in hip-hop. I hope this shyt starts a trend and maybe nikkas take note and start trying to boss up instead of working under some Jew that takes his cake off the top like 50 is attempting to do. Give a few years, this nikka is gonna start a distribution company with his own dime.

i can agree with 50's logic.....the world today LOVES SENSATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT...

and BOXING regardless of it's HISTORY should be no different...

so yes it could be profitable to intergrate other aspects such as musical performances and celeb guest appearances

let's just HOPE he gets somebody ELSE to perform OTHER THAN HIM...

cause his performance that night WAS HORRIBLE

I've been saying forever boxing events should be more than just the main event...sometimes you'll have exciting boxers purists would know on the undercard but it makes sense to have more name value throughout the card

Known boxers who can't command a huge draw should've been all over the card last night for instance

Let the up and comers develop on Friday Night Fights or some shyt

It will not work for boxing like the wwf.
All because boxing does not have enough singular draws.
You can put on a card.
That will sacrifice their draw to aid the draw of another drawing entity or promoter.
Plus there are not enough entertaining aspects to boxing past the knockout for the common fan.
Not to mention generationally boxing has really never transistioned into being a larger popular draw mid teen to adult draw as well.
Unlike wrasslin where the drawing demographic covers male and female.
From the ages of a child to even the elderly.
Relative to boxing's draw and talent pool.
there are not enough knockout artist.
who are skilled enough or personable enough to draw past their inring skill as a draw.
To populate a card and willing to sacrifice their payday for the greater good as well.
As boxing is an actual sport, not a worked exhibition like wrasslin!

the reason why wrasslin works as a draw is it is a worked exhibition.
With worked strikes and a predetermined ending.
Made to stimulate a larger draw.
Boxing is not a work.
Nor is every match a guarantee for the larger draw to continue as a draw.
As the larger draw always is under fire to lose his draw.
As boxing is not a work and a larger draw is susceptible to a loss of his draw from an actual loss.
