Because hunger isn't a problem in this country. More people die from obsesity in the USA than malnourishment or starvation.
The deaths of that sort are the result of child abuse not lack of access to food. The reason why i never donate to food drives. That problem has been solved. We actually have an issue with throwing away perfectly edible food. excess in food production is also contributing heavily to pollution.

Homelessness is a separate issue. and one we still have to figure out a solution to.
