Got virtually swept by a team of "role players" with no "elite scorers". Somewhere I've heard this story...... A team led by Hall of Famers on their way to inevitably dominate the league meets a team not afraid to punch them in the mouth, and they get ran off the court.

Not saying that's what in store for this year but I would keep that in mind everytime I read a post about nobody possibly touching the heat this year

The 2004 Los Angeles Lakers are in no way comparable to this heats team other than having big name players. The 04 Lakers had a weak bench, relied on a much older injury prone Malone for the majority of our production at that position mind you behind him was slava medvedenko. The team was also imploding from years of behind the scenes politics coming to a head, add the fact that GP didn't fit in with the team, the bench overall was depleted and most of the integral role players of the title squad either left or were too old to make a difference, the heats are opposite on most of these fronts.

One team is beginning to come together even more and seems fully adjusted and clicking, the other team struggled to make it to the finals only to let their biggest weaknesses take hold. Lakers made that finals off the strength of Kobe and Shaq's talent but their beefin and Malone's injury did us in. I get where your coming from, a team could upset the heats. But still, this is a terrible comparison.
