Emotional/Verbal abuse is real tho.

It's different when it's a strangers opinion vs someone who you thought was supposed to love you. When you have that attachment their words carry extra weight. Abusers can use that as a weapon against you.

When you hear that you are worthless so many times, you don't even need the person to tell you anymore because it becomes ingrained in your mind and your thoughts repeat that message for them. It's kind of like brainwashing. It takes time. It's called training or grooming a person.
