Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
I ask cause, as we know, Drake threads are prevalent here.

Defenders of Drake have recently said things like "One Style is a hit", " It's gonna have the dance floor lit", etc.

But in the past we never reviewed the genre this way.

We didn't hear "Down in the DM" and say "I can't wait to dance to that"...

Even songs that are meant to be dance songs, we didn't hear " Hot in Hurr" and be like " I can't wait til the summer to hit the dance floor"

Those were just genuinely good songs... We assessed the music and since they were good, we enjoyed them with company and in parties..

I feel like shyt has changed

twitter/social media culture means that dikkriding is more prevalent. People almost form their opinions on what they think will be the cool/popular ones.

There's nothing wrong with people liking songs made for parties or clubs.

For alot of people that's the only time they get to get off work blow some steam and experience rap socially instead of on their iphones by their self.

Nothing has changed really, your just noticing more opinions on things due to social media

as i always have...if i like it i like it, if i don't i don't.

:manny:

opinions can change.
some records might hit me different depending the time, the place the scenario or mood.

but with social media now, once you put it out in the ether its there...so even if you change your mind on a song, depending on the agenda someone can bring up what you have already said and then it all descends into a goofy back and forth.

also, you just hear more opinions and pre-conceived notions now

records aren't really broke on radio, clubs, etc anymore..they hit they net first and then you see if they build.
so people are already hear a song and are thinking what it could be before you actually get to hear it at a function.

you don't think people heard certain songs and though they might ring off in say...The Tunnel ?

its a pretty easy process we all go thru to enjoy new hip hop first you put your left foot in, then put your right foot out you shake it all about and if you feeling the groove....the song is for you
