....On the same label AFTERMATH/Interscope. The labels had Em by tha balls and told him to keep putting out these trash 1st singles and he obliged.

We got cheesy single after recycled cheesy single from Em. Tired rehash Mainstream attempt after mainstream attempt even after going 4X platinum and maintaining a loyal fan base. Em chased cheesy vh1 style collabs/sounds with Skylar Grey and Rihanna . Kendrick dropped two creative concepts without sacrificing artistic integrity and remaining true to his style.

Em had a shot to drop a concept album with Relapse but shoved radio attempts like We Made You and Crack a Bottle down our throats. Eminem discography would be held in higher regards if he didn't sacrifice his art.

Because those record labels for years has shown they want no part of street nikkas problems, how many times Artist Like Cube, CNN, Boot Camp Clique ran up in The labels and start smacking people up.

TDE is a West Coast Gangsta Rap Label that is run by Gangstas, they do what the fukk they want to do their record speak for itself

Different demographics. They marketed Em to capitalize off of suburban America.

"You know Em made that company over a billion dollars" - 50

I got love for Kendrick but he won't be doing that any time soon.

Don't buy that lame ass story. Eminem is corny. He tried to get a lot of people on aftermath to make corny music. I realized Eminem is corny foreal when he got just blaze at his disposal and had him custom make the worst music just blaze has ever made. His taste is awful. He destroyed slaughterhouse and had them do a horrible pop album. He tried to do the same to stat quo n gave him a horrible look for a single

Don't blame the label. Every artist goes thru that but when Kendrick did he made tracks like the recipe. Eminem is being his true self on those songs.

Big difference between a guy who sells 5-10 million records to a guy who does 1 maybe 2 million if hes lucky first of all. Of course the label doesn't want a guy who sells 10 million records on his second album to not switch it up a ton.....

Yet Eminem still had creative control. That's why we got entire albums of his trash ass beats and fukking terrible hooks. And he wanted to do those corny singles. He loved the attention.

Because he was a more important investment at the time he came out.

I would say that Kendrick has benefited from Em having to ride the fence for the labels while still making sure he does his MC shyt.

Take a look at the hiatus period up to Relapse. nikkas will probably clown me but I can put together an argument that Encore was essentially a protest/troll album. In fact after they told him "The Way I am" couldn't be the lead single and they needed another "My Name is"...seeing how they were album to sell it to his "fans" he just kept giving them what they asked for.

He doesn't like this rap shyt, not being megastar Eminem...he resents it. He said on TES that he wanted to fall back, talked about retiring and doing what he needed to do for his family...but puts out an album a year later? You mean to tell me that I spent a whole album talking about how my career is fukking up my family life and how I want to "say goodbye to Hollywood" and you want an more (an encore) of THAT?

Go an look at the cover art...suicide note and a bullet on the disc, holding a gun behind his back as he bows to the audience.

"Sold out"

And all I wanna do is go to the mall and take Hallie on the carousel
Without this crowd everywhere I go but life is like a merry-go-round
Here we go now do-si-do now curtains up the show must go now
Ring-around-the-rosie the show's over you can all go home now
But the curtain just don't close for me
This ain't how fame was supposed to be
Where's the switch I can just turn off-and-on this ain't what I chose to be

So please God give me the strength
To have what it takes to carry on
'Til I pass 50 back the baton, the camera's on, my soul is gone

:sas2:

He was on a schedule and he did what he had to. But between that, 8 mile and then seemingly being forced to adhere to a schedule rather than, hey, albums done, he said fukk it. Got into them pills and opened up Encore whining about fame, suicide and retirement. The he trolls his way through the album for the most part and ends it...with a song about retiring.

Encore is basically an album about not wanting to make an album...then he "kills" Slim Shady in the "When I'm gone" video that serves as an apology to his family due to the pace of his career and then disappears for 4 years.

Yup.
I feel like Eminem eanted the $$$ and sold himself out
It was an interview someehere where he said he switched his style from infinite to the slim shady ep cuz thats where his mental state was at the time

After that took off he never looked back

Everything since the eminem show has been trash except mmlp 2 but even there he showed no growth as an artist

8 mile soundtrack and Lose Yourself says otherwise. He came correct and still sold without that cheesy shyt.

Even after his return from hiatus he was putting out garbage sellout singles.
