Talking about draftees mainly but other players such as FA are welcome.

Some places just aren't able to have players produce. The raiders for example. They pick talented people but they all seem to fail.
And sometimes players go 1 place struggle then get another and blossom. Maybe because they matured as a player or they were just in the wrong place to begin with.
I think situation is everything.

It's huge, some players are drafted to franchises that will do anything to win, and some well are drafted to the clippers.

It can be huge.

-Alex Smith was terrible for year, he came into a terrible situation. Defensive head coaches, no offensive talent around him. Once Harbaugh shows up and talent is built, he succeeds.

-Aaron Rodgers, sits behind a HOF QB for 3-4 years, learns the game and steps into a talented team with an offensive minded HC. Has instant success.

-David Carr, talented player, came into a Texans organization which had nothing. He was sacked 50+ times every single year, fukked him up for life.

-Colin Kaepernick, talented player but very raw. Sits for a year and a half, learns from a QB guru HC, takes over a talented team, goes to the super bowl

it's kinda fukked up how they never really tried to build around David Carr...yeah he got Andre Johnson, but NOTHING else on that side of the ball.... had they let him sit like Carson did the year after him, he'd still be a starter in the NFL.

how the fukk does ANY O Line let a QB get sacked 71 and 68 times in a season?

life aint fair, but damn they threw him to the wolves....atleast he got a ring

The cream will rise to the top regardless. Lebron was thrown into Cleveland and put them on his shoulders. Stephen Curry was thrown into arguably the most dysfunctional situation in the league with inept ownership and Monta talking shyt on him his 1st day on the job yet he still averaged 18 ppg while being surrounded by D-League players and Don Nelson who was half sober during the season. Darren McFadden had no problem shining with the Raiders.
