How big would Patrice O'Neal have been if he were alive?

I'm watching his old stand-up and interviews and Patrice was so naturally funny. He had a way of hilariously cutting through bullshyt and being himself no holds barred. There's no doubt Kevin Hart is the #1 black comedian right now, but do you think he could've surpassed him purely on the comedy circuit? Not movies and television? I say that because I don't see Patrice doing the goofy shyt that Kevin Hart does for the sake of a laugh because he didn't have to. I don't want to bash Kevin Hart with this thread either. He has his moments. But I would probably put Patrice in my top 10.

well if he continue to do stand up, he'd probably have to sit down. chances are he'd have lost a foot if he was still alive.

edit:

and he'd probably be one of the top comics out there. :whoa:

He was respected by other comedians as one of, if not the best when he died.

His stand up was incredible, but his subject matter at times wasn't that easy to swallow so he would have had to do a little conforming to reach certain people/places and he wasn't down for that.

He wouldn't be Louis CK big, but probably a tier below it, maybe his own FX show (which apparently he had in the works when he died)

Let's not get carried away. I loved Patrice Oneal and all but he even said he was given the opportunity many times to blow up and seeing and knowing the ways of Hollywood he was always scared to owe that much to anybody which is why he kind of stayed under the radar and associated with what he says is "low to mid level Jews"

Start at the 8:00 minute mark. He breaks down the traps of Hollywood and how the whole thing works.
