Thursday marked the 109th anniversary of the day the Titanic sunk in the Atlantic Ocean. Many know the story that has been turned into an award-winning movie, but many don't know the story of the ship's only Black passenger. Joseph Laroche was a Haitian-born engineer traveling with his pregnant wife and two children on the ship. Marlie Alberts, a descendant of Larouche, has researched his life and legacy.
