How can liberals go about co-opting the American flag

We see the flag on cars and houses and immediately think their a Trumptard or a conservative or a cop or a service member.

I propose that we flag the US alongside all of our own.

So if you're repping an RBG flag, or a rainbow flag or a BLM flag etc...you gotta fly the American one too.

I'll say this. I'm not teary eyed when they sing the Star Spangled Banner. That shyt is for cacs.

It's just a flag. Many atrocities were committed against black people under the authority of that flag. I grudgingly live with it. I don't have to celebrate it tho.

I dont see us black folk loving the flag the way some white people do for a looooooong time. But we cant make white people the standard of morals - they arent. I like the flag enough, as do most black people I know but my heart doesn't melt when I see it. I fly it on occasion, I celebrate the 4th with fireworks. I appreciate the troops and their service. My dad was in Vietnam and my grandfather was in WW2 (now deceased).
When equal justice is served under the law, when equal opportunities are provided, when a fair shot at the American dream is delivered as it is promised then black people will feel the same about the flag as the oppressor. And thats the way is should be. We shouldnt have to force emotions to something we know in our hearts hasnt treated us right. We just received full (debatable) civil rights 1 generation ago, think about that.

Never felt pride in the flag..national anthem..pledge of allegiance etc. I sometimes wouldnt say the pledge of allegiance and sat for the national anthem at games going back to high school and earlier. I felt like I was being brainwashed . Parents told me to question authority at an early age.

Republicans displaying the flag is just as much about them being divisive as proud imo. I never really saw the need to display something obvious. Let them move to a different country and fly the flag and we'll if they are really about it
