i believe the scientific term is "savant".

From my understanding , savant describes someone who is brilliant in one aspect of human existence but more or less retarded at the rest of it. Coincidentally, it is often used on artists ; for example a person that can paint a perfect replica of a city skyline after one viewing it for 3 seconds, or a musician who can pick up any instrument and master it in 30days. In lesser instances it can refer to math whizes who are brilliant at computation but retarded at social things.


Rappers can easily fall into the savant category because poetry and music are artforms. Also worth noting that savants are often the result of severe childhood trauma or bad brain archetecture. If you look closely at most inner city neighborhoods you do see the elements for the creation of a trauma based savant .

I mean, I studied Computer Science and later Data Science. I interacted with many dudes, native speakers of English, that couldn't put words together, and couldn't properly express themselves but were amazing at math, computation, data visualization, etc.

And I also had teachers that were amazing at putting words together, but you could easily sense that they were bullshytting. Nothing more than sesquipedalianism.

To get a degree, you need mostly effort. Especially in this era where everything is available online. And communication with your college peers is super easy. You are struggling with something? Text, email or even IG DM your classmate to explain to you real quick.
