Competition was a requirement in hip-hop. now you don't really need to do that. I mean at the end of the day this shyt is about money and you have too much to lose and very little to gain with that competition shyt. i mean whats realistically going to happen if a rapper wins a battle? IHe going to sell more records? He gunna do more tours? Hell naw.

Ehh this is kind of a myth....it was just more upper echelon rappers back in the day so the number of them that was scared too just didn't stand out as much...but there was plenty of cold wars back in the day and nikkas choosing they battles wisley....a lot of it was dudes knowing it might spill over to the streets,but end of the day dudes got theyy stupid reasons now too
