How come Caribbeans don't call their food 'slave food' but Native Black Americans call Soul Food

When you're a black majority, you don't identify with slavery as much? That's my guess.Slavefood

A lot of stuff came from pro black movements that wanted to distance from America
Don’t know why it would be called slave food when the vast majority of soul food is eaten by white and black southerners alike. I can see for something like chiltlins but even that was eaten by poor white southerners.

I believe that the late Elijah Muhammad and his teachings about food,nutrition, and history and CERTAIN foods, and cuts/sections of animals are most responsible for people associating certain foods with slavery.Slavefood
