it's just more acceptable.

in other cultures when you big you stand out because it's not as common so societal pressure is a lot more. you can't hide within the population.

Went to a 7/11 in Colorado and saw they were selling beers for less than water. And they were some big ass cans. Damn near every place I been to was made for driving. Portion sizes were huge everywhere. That shyt ain't normal :francis:

I forget where I heard this at, but it has to do with our fat cells. Or more like an overabundance of them and it starts in our youth. Someone who spent a lot of their younger years eating like shyt, eating way too many calories and not using those calories for energy, will develop more fat cells to store that excess energy. Now someone who hasn't, like one of my ex girlfriends who didn't even have a hamburger until she was 20, they don't have the same number of fat cells. The thing is those fat cells don't go away. You have them for life. So someone like the guy from Fit to Fat to Fit, who has been active their whole life and ate a balanced diet, even when he gets fat, he'll have an easier time losing that weight because he doesn't have that over abundance of fat cells. But that person, like a friend of mine, whose family went through 3 liter sodas on a daily basis, on a steady diet of Pizza Hut, while she was skinny in her youth still has a ton more fat cells. So when that shyt hit her in her mid 20's, it was way harder to lose even though she changed up her lifestyle. Even when you do lose the weight, you still have those fat cells, verses the person who doesn't. It makes it so you will get fat a whole lot easier. We also live in a country where added sugar is in so much. Even in baby formula. So for someone to not be a total fat ass takes a lot due diligence. It takes a total lifestyle overhaul. It takes being active with not putting certain items in your home. It takes, instead of stocking on on frozen processed stuff, making a meal or two on Sunday that can last you and your family for the week, with ingredients that you know are in there. It takes even when you go out, controlling what you eat. Instead of getting that foot long sandwich, just get the quarter size. I've seen people make fun of the serving sizes at places like Pret a Manger, but that's what we're supposed to be having. At McDonalds we should just be having the regular hamburger or cheeseburger which are only like 300 calories. But they have to make their profits, so they keep making bigger and more fattening products.

Don't our cells replace themselves every 7 years? Cuz in that case wouldn't you just have to be skinny for 7 years so those fat cells go away completely since they aren't being used :patrice:

So, a huge part of it is high fructose corn syrup. The corn lobbyist make sure thats what we use in most of our foods than natural sugar. And its terrible for us.

We also serve much larger portions in the states that they do in Europe for instance.

The amount of salt and preservatives as well. Thats mostly in frozen foods that are purchased by Americans who are of lower socioeconomic status. So most of these diseases we’re thinking of affect poor people. Is it by design? Idk. But we’re basically the only developed country with food deserts ( deserts, not desserts) too. So it sure is alarming.

I simplified it, but yeah, thats a huge chunk of it.
